Therwil Flyers vs. Zurich Barracudas
Two teams at the top of the National League A ladder faced off on Saturday, August 31, 2019, in Zurich.
Hide ”Optimus Prime” Oshima took the mound for the Flyers in Game One and executed his pitching function at an optimal level, with 5.2 innings pitched, 5 hits allowed, 1 run allowed, and 0 blinks. Takanobu ”The other” Oshima closed out the 6th, 7th, and 8th, primarily leaning on his 157km/hr fastball and a slider so sharp it could cut a watermelon. Takanobu ”Kakkoii” Oshima also led the charge for the boys in blue with 2 RBI’s and a home run that almost hit the Barracudas’ shortstop. It wasn't a one-man show; however, as ”Stefan ”Cool beans” Koller, ”Oh” Noah Senn, and William ”Whiskers” Greenfield all had 2 RBI’s. The Flyer’s won game one 11-1 in 8 innings.
In game 2 the Flyers gave up 3 early, but Chris ”Nooooiiicce” Horne returned to form in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th holding the Barracudas scoreless. William ”Curious like a cat” Greenfield came into the game and made the pitches he needed to make, but an untimely error and a hit by the Cudas allowed them to recapture the lead. The Flyers battle, but couldn't quite get over the hump losing game 2  5-7. The Flyers were lead by Rafael ”Captain Switzerland” Eigenmann who had 3 hits in the game and William ”Billiam” Greenfield with 2 hits, 2 rbi’s, and 3 stolen bases. With the split, the Flyers sit in second place and the Barracudas are a game behind in 3rd place. The Flyers play one game against the Luzern Eagles next weekend at Therwil in a make up game.
